Pick or Pan of the Week: “The Adjustment Bureau”

Pick The Adjustment BureauPICK The Adjustment BureauA fantasy/romance directed by George Nolfi and starring Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and John Slattery which delves deep into the contention of fate versus free will: do we control the paths our lives take, or is there some kind of greater cosmic being dictating our every move?

In the film, Damon plays David Norris, an ambitious politician who falls in love with a contemporary ballet dancer named Elise (Blunt), who is unlike any woman he has ever known. However, David and Elise sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G is not exactly what the hands of fate, a.k.a. the men of the Adjustment Bureau, had in mind, and they will do everything in their power to keep the forbidden love birds apart.

The Adjustment Bureau takes the whole will-they, won’t -they scenario of typical romantic movies and ups it ten fold with an entirely fresh and original plot and heavy thematic content. This film is not to be missed.
